Wallace man arrested for three armed robberies

ELIZABETHTOWN — A Wallace man wanted for three armed robberies in the region was arrested on Monday and is now in the Robeson County Jail.

According to Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw, Ottis McGill, 37, was charged with an armed robbery on Aug. 20 at the Minuteman Convenience Store on South Poplar Street.

“On Monday … officers with the U.S. Marshal’s Service arrested the suspect coming out of a grocery store in Fayetteville,” Kinlaw said. In addition to the warrant for the Elizabethtown robbery, the suspect was wanted for two armed robberies in Lumberton and a parole violation.”

Kinlaw said he did not know the amount of McGill’s bond, but that he remains in the Robeson County Jail.
