Relay For Life gives a ‘sneak peek’

ELIZABETHTOWN — Bladen County Relay For Life organizers held a “sneak peek” event recently that allowed folks to get a glimpse into the exciting things that will be happening with the 2014 Bladen County Relay for Life this year.

The 2014 Relay For Life website has launched and teams can now begin registering online. If someone wishes to register their team between Sept. 4 and Sept. 30, they will receive a discount on the registration fee. For a limited period the registration fee will be $5 per participant. Just use the code “relay” to receive your discount, but remember that is only good until Sept. 30.

As of Friday two teams had taken advantage of the incentive and regsitered early. They are Smithfield and Zion Hill Community Team, according to the website. Zion Hill Community Team has raised a total of $60 thus far, according to the website.

Some of the other highlights unveiled were:

— The 2014 Relay For Life event will take place May 2 and May 3 from 11 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Elizabethtown Middle School.

— The annual Relay For Life kick-off event is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at Lu Mil Vineyard in Dublin.
