ELIZABETHTOWN — When it comes to hot cars, hot music and hot fun, Big Show Auto Finish will have it all covered on Saturday when its owner, Mr. Big Show, hosts the first Old School Block Party.

Located at 2900 West Broad Street, the grounds of Big Show Auto Finish will be transformed into one of the hottest block parties in the Carolinas.

The event will run from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m., and will be open to all adults. Tickets cost $10 up to the day of the event and will be $15 per person at the gate.

“I know there’s not always a lot to do in the area, so that’s why I thought this would be a good idea,” said Big Show. “It’s our first one like this, so we hope people will come out and have fun — and we will probably make it an annual event.”

Big Show is no stranger to putting on community events, and he has a number of them planned for the future — including those that will benefit local charities and others that will be for minors only.

” I just think we should all give back when things are going well for us,” he said. “And I want to offer some events for the community to come out and enjoy in a good, safe atmosphere.”

At Saturday’s event, Big Show said he has lined up the RuffRyders, a motorcycle/car club out of Fayetteville, to serve as co-hosts of the event. There will also be a number of live bands performing throughout the day.

Also, the day will feature free food, a dance contest, a spades and dominoes tournament, and monetary prizes to the best-dressed male/female out of the 1980s and 1990s decades.

“We’ll also be giving away a free auto paint job from Big Show Auto Finish,” Big Show said.

— Also on Saturday, Big Show and Bigg Snowdog will team up for a Birthday Bash Celebration at the Elizabethtown National Guard Armory on Swanzy Street from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Tickets for event, which is open to those 21 and over only, will cost $10 per person. The cost will include finger foods while they last.

But there will also be 25 VIP tickets available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those tickets will include a catered hot meal, free drinks throughout the event, a free VIP entourage photo and a one-night stay at the local Days Inn.

There will be a $100 prize each for the best-dressed male and female at the event.
