ELIZABETHTOWN — The Cape Fear Farmer’s Market in downtown Elizabethtown will host a special seminar on Thursday featuring Steve Carver, a business skills trainer and counselor.
“First impressions can be long lasting,” Carver said. “Business people want to start every greeting and presentation with the most positive and energy packed messages possible.
“By focusing on creating strong and confidence habits, sales and staff members enhance their presentations,” he added.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Carver will be speaking about “Putting WOW factors into business and personal greetings.” The seminar, which is being sponsored by Bladen Community College’s Small Business Center, is free and open to the public.
Pre-registration is suggested, but walk-ins will be welcome. To pre-register, reserve a seat and handout materials, call Todd Lyden at 910-879-5572.
“In this seminar, we will be discussing various ways that owners, managers and sales staff can become more successful by better understanding the importance of the value of initial contact opportunities and building personal relationships in business activities,” Carver said.
Carver brings real business experience with more than 45 years ownership of retail, wholesale, Internet and service businesses in North Carolina. He serves private enterprises with special training, appraising and market surveying projects — as well as speaking on business-related topics for Small Business Centers throughout the North Carolina Community College System.
