Childhood nightmare

November 5, 2013

America’s children now have a new enemy in the American Psychiatric Association, which last week gave a pass to those who target youngsters to satisfy their sexual urges.

The APA, in its most recent edition of the “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,” officially classified pedophilia as — not a disease, but a sexual orientation.

There is little doubt that we think the members of the APA need to undergo some of their own counseling, psychotherapy and perhaps even a little old-timey “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” type of shock therapy.

This, of course, is a deja vu moment, since the APA declared that homosexuality was an orientation back in the 1970s. At that time, the APA was getting heavy pressure from the homosexual community and, now, they have bowed to the pressure from pedophile activists.

But there remains one stark difference between the two types of perversion — homosexuals are usually consenting, legal-age adults; a pedophile’s prey is always an underage, often very young child.

Sandy Rois, a cultural expert and host with the American Family Radio Network, summed it up best when she said, “It is not now, nor has it ever been acceptable for men or women to desire sex with children. Any who struggle with this must at least know that it is wrong before they can combat it and seek change.”

What the APA’s latest decision does is emphasize the downward sexual spiral our society has been on for the past few decades.

Where could it possibly go from here? We obviously can’t say, but it might be a good time to keep a closer watch on Fido and Fluffy.
