Four County Conference Tournament opens Wednesday

The brackets have been set for this week’s Four County Conference Tournament, which opens Wednesday on the courts of the higher seeds.


Girls bracket


East Bladen, 22-1, drew the No. 1 seed in the conference and will host Union, the No. 8 seed, at 6 p.m.


West Bladen, 12-9, is the tournament’s No. 4 seed and will host Heidi Trask, the No. 5 seed, at 6 p.m. Wednesday.


A win by both the Lady Eagles and Lady Knights would pit the two against each other on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the semifinals at Clinton High School.


The other side of the bracket opens with No. 2 Clinton hosting No. 7 Pender County, and No. 3 Midway hosting No. 6 Wallace-Rose Hill on Wednesday.


The championship will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Clinton High.


Boys bracket


East Bladen, 13-9, is the tournament’s No. 4 seed and will play host Wednesday to No. 5 West Bladen, 14-10, in a rematch of Monday’s regular-season finale. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.


On the same side of the bracket is the game between No. 1 seed Clinton versus No. 8 Union. The winner will play the winner of the East versus West game on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Clinton High School.


On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 seed Heidi Trask will host No. 7 Pender County, and No. 3 Midway hosting No. 6 Wallace-Rose Hill.


The championship will be Friday at 8 p.m. at Clinton High.
