CLINTON — An eight-run explosion in the second inning by the Lady Eagles of East Bladen sparked a 14-3 win over Clinton on Friday in Four County Conference action.

The Lady Eagles struck quickly, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning.
Clinton got a run back, but East Bladen batted around and plated eight runs in that wild second frame to open a 12-1 lead. Each team scored a pair of runs the rest of the way.
“We played well offensively and defensive,” said East Bladen coach Patty Evers. “Miller and Lacey both did a good job in the circle — it was Lacey’s first game pitching on the high-school level.”
Heustess pitched the opening two innings for East Bladen, giving up a run on two hits, a walk and a strikeout. Suggs finished up for the Lady Eagles, going the final three frames and giving up two runs on two hits, a walk and two strikeouts.
