DUBLIN — Bladen Community College has launched its summer recruiting campaign, and that means BCC counselors will be at locations throughout the county over the next few weeks talking with prospective students and family members about what the college has to offer.
Early fall registration is scheduled for July 16-17 and the final registration period for the fall semester is scheduled for August 11-12. Counselor Anthony Thomas says the recruiting team’s primary purpose in going out into the community is to not only answer questions about BCC, but also to impress upon prospective students the importance of making application for the fall semester as soon as possible.
According to Thomas, the counselor/recruiters are prepared to discuss program requirements and application procedures, as well as help prospective students begin the application process.
“We plan to reach as many families in our market area as we can between now and the final fall registration period in middle August,” he said. “BCC offers many options, both for students looking to learn a skill that will help them find employment, but also for students who plan to complete four-year degrees.
“One of the programs we will be promoting is Career and College Promise, which enables high school students to complete their first full year of college while still in high school. It also offers job skills training programs that can enable a high school student to earn certificates that will make the employable when they complete their high school diploma,” Thomas added.
