DUBLIN — On Thursday, July 23, a total of 18 nursing students received diplomas in practical nursing from Bladen Community College. The Pinning Ceremony featured BCC president William Findt as guest speaker.

Class President Candy Watson shared remarks with the graduates. Tammy Cain was awarded the Professional Nursing Award as the student most admired by her classmates. Four students, Candace English, Tammy Cain, Jamie Sanders, and Brittany Locklear shared the same highest grade point averages and received Most Outstanding Student Nurse Awards.

Kimberly F. Johnson was awarded the Florence Nightingale Award for compassion and caring. The Leadership and Management Award was presented to class president Candy Watson.

Ushers for the ceremony were John Hunsinger and Jordan Hayes.

The Pinning Ceremony includes the presentation of pins and lamps to the graduates. During the ceremony, the graduates take the Florence Nightingale Pledge.
