ST. PAULS — Dr. Lisa Gholston-Cox has joined Southeastern Medical Clinic St. Pauls, an affiliate of Southeastern Health.
A native of Wagram, Gholston-Cox earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Tyhe University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1985 and a master’s degree in physiology from N.C. State University in 1987. In 1991, she earned a medical degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. She completed a family practice residency with Duke/Fayetteville AHEC in 1994, after which she worked in general practice at Primary Care Plus Urgent Care and Family Practice in Fayetteville as medical director and staff physician.
She completed an internal medicine residency program in 1999 at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., and worked for Southeastern Health from 2002-2005 and most recently served as a staff physician for the Cumberland County Health Department as well as the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has a special interest in women’s health issues.
She and her husband Ronnie live in Fayetteville with their son, Samuel.
Gholston-Cox joins Dr. LaToya Woods and Family Nurse Practitioner Barbara Keith at the clinic, which is located at 128 East Broad St. in St. Pauls. The clinic accepts patients either by appointment or walk-in and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 910-865-5955.
