GREENSBORO (AP) — A North Carolina A&T University student has gotten creative in her search for a prospective kidney donor.

The Greensboro News & Record reports 23-year-old Kiana Sanders and her friends are appealing to the public through road signs, car decals and T-shirts in hopes of finding a donor for Sanders.

At age 5, Sanders was diagnosed with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. More than two years ago, she learned that both of her kidneys are failing, and she needs a transplant.

Sanders, who will graduate in December, undergoes weekly dialysis. Doctors say a kidney transplant would prolong Sanders’ life and greatly improve her quality of life.

Sanders says those interested in being considered as a match can call Duke University Medical Center to speak to a living donor coordinator.
