ELIZABETHTOWN – Bladen Healthcare will begin offering childbirth education and breastfeeding classes, as well as Birth Center evening tours.
The childbirth education classes will teach about the birthing process, including breathing and relaxation techniques, pain relief options for labor and delivery, and postpartum care. A Birth Center tour is included.
Classes will be from 6 to 9 p.m., one night a week for three weeks in the Bladen County Hospital’s second-floor Education Room. Cost is $30 per couple, due on the first night of class. New classes will be offered June 7, July 5, Aug. 2, and Sept. 6.
Breastfeeding classes will cover practical solutions to common breastfeeding problems. The class is free and fathers are welcome to attend. Classes will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., also in the Education Room, on June 28, July 26, Aug. 23, and Sept. 27.
Birth Center evening tours are also free and include visits to the hospital’s Birth Center. Tours begin at 5 p.m. on June 21, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13.
