Farrah L. Johnson and Javon G. Dixon were married July 23, 2016, at The Brooklyn Arts Center in Wilmington. The Rev. James T. McDowell officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Lorenzo and Priscilla McKoy of Kelly. The groom is the son of Rueben Redd and June Marie Dixon of Wilmington.

The bride was escorted by her grandfather, James Phillip Wright. She wore an ivory Venice gown trimmed with lace, pearls, diamonds and her late grandmother’s pearl necklace. She carried a bouquet of peach and white roses.

The reception was held in the courtyard at the Brooklyn Arts Center. Music was provided by the band Mangroove and Brian Miller. Following the reception, the couple left for a honeymoon in Mexico. The horse carriage was provided by Springbrook Farms.

They couple currently resides in Oxford.

The bride works in the finance department at Children’s Developmental Services Agency. The groom is a business teacher at Hillside High School.
