Whitehurst Lake House in Washington was the beautiful setting of the Sept. 19, 2015, wedding of Lauren Brittney Perry and Tyler Closson Lumley, both of Greenville. Dr. Bradley Smith officiated the outdoor ceremony. Mike and Joy Knotts, cousins of the bride, served as the vocalists.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Sadie Perry of Clarkton. She is the granddaughter of the late Carlton and Ann Perry and the late Poe Elkins and Ovaline Elkins Cayton.
The groom is the son of Mike Lumley of Greensboro and the late Holly Lumley. He is the grandson of Hazel Lumley of Circleville, Ohio, and the late Robert Lumley and the late Max and Faith Closson.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an all-over lace sheath bridal gown with a sweetheart neckline, a ruched body gathered at one side of the waist with a flower accent, keyhole, and wrapped buttons in the back.
Serving the bride as matron of honor was Anna Turner Befus, and her bridesmaids were Maggie Wade, Brooke Weisner, Miraf Bisetegne, and Kelly Bryan Lennon, all friends of the bride. Laini Kosinski, cousin of the groom, served as the flower girl.
Steve McGarry served the groom as best man. Andrew Lumley, brother of the groom, served as one of the groomsmen, and the other groomsmen were Chris Davis, Andy Levendosky, and David Hall, all friends of the groom.
A reception was held at Whitehurst Lake House immediately following the ceremony, hosted by the bride’s parents and the groom’s father. A dinner, also at the wedding venue, followed and was hosted by the bride’s parents.
A rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding was hosted by the groom’s father and was held at Winslow’s Restaurant in Greenville.
The bride is a 2012 graduate of East Carolina University and is employed by ECU in the Office of Institutional Integrity. The groom is a 2010 graduate of East Carolina University and is employed by Wells Fargo Dealer Services in the Title Processing Unit.
After honeymooning in Spain, the couple is now residing in Winterville.
