ELIZABETHTOWN — Scott Ricardi, a veteran of the newspaper sales industry in the southeast North Carolina region, has joined the Bladen Journal staff.

Ricardi is the newspaper’s new advertising sales consultant and takes the place of Brittney Woodell, who was recently promoted to the position of regional advertising director for Civitas Media’s southeast North Carolina group. She is now based in Lumberton.

“We are ecstatic to have Scott join us,” said W. Curt Vincent, general manager/editor of the Bladen Journal. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism and success to the table, and he will be a solid addition not only to our staff but to the community we serve as well.”

Ricardi previously worked for CNHI/Heartland Publications/Civitas Media at The Robesonian for 16 years before accepting a position with the Florence (S.C.) Morning News, where he worked for the past 18 months.

In addition to his responsibilities for print advertising sales in Bladen County, Ricardi will also be focusing on digital sales in the four-county region of Bladen, Robeson, Scotland and Richmond.

“I am very excited to be closer to home and with the friends and businesses that I have grown up in this business with,” Ricardi said. “I look forward to building many new friendships and partnerships going forward (and) am more excited than ever to share ways to use our products to get businesses noticed more.”

Ricardi lives in Lumberton with his wife Amanda, with whom he has been married for 12 years. They are members of Zion Tabernacle Baptist church in Lumberton.
