Bells Across America is Sunday

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Battle of Elizabethtown DAR Chapter would like to invite the residents of Bladen County to participate in the Bells Across America ceremony on the courthouse lawn on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. in celebration of the cornerstone of our freedoms, our Constitution.

Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23, commemorates the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States. Bells will be ringing from coast to coast to celebrate this great historical milestone. At the end of the ceremony, the bell on the courthouse lawn will be rung 230 times.

Anyone who would like an opportunity to be one of the bell ringers should arrive by 3:45 p.m.

We encourage all church members, school students, veterans, city and county employees/leaders, 4-H Club members, Boy Scout troop members, Girl Scout troop members and other clubs or individuals to come help us celebrate and keep this legacy alive on Constitution Day, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Bladen County Courthouse.
