TAR HEEL — Smithfield will be hosting a job fair Saturday at the NCWorks Career Center, located at 401 Mercer Mill Road in Elizabethtown. Positions are available for both maintenance and production workers.
Candidates must be able to work in cold areas and must be available for all shifts. Additionally, applicants should not have had a felony conviction within the last seven years and should not be re-hires. Applicants should bring I-9 verification documents (i.e., valid picture ID, passport, social security card, etc.). There will be no transfers between the Clinton and Tar Heel plants. No HRD class certificate is need for employment.
The starting rate for production is $10 per hour, which will increase to $13.80 per hour after 90 days. Benefits include life insurance, short-term disability, medical, dental, vision, a 401K with partial company match, paid vacation, nine paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, scholarships, pension, and annual attendance incentive.
