— A Women’s Empowerment Luncheon will be held at the Paul R. Nov. 18

— The Bladen County Law Enforcement Officers Association will host a concealed carry permit class at their range (behind the old White Lake Department of Corrections facility at 5853 U.S. 701 North in White Lake), taught by Lead Instructor Larry Guyton and assisted by several criminal justice certified firearms instructors with years of experience and knowledge. If you want good, quality instruction in a safely controlled and monitored setting then this is the class for you. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the cost $80 and includes all course materials, a certificate of completion and a noon meal. Safety equipment will be provided. All you need to bring is the weapon you wish to qualify with and your ammunition. A minimum of 30 rounds of ammunition is required. Also bring a billed hat to wear while qualifying. — The Bladen County Educational Foundation, Inc., a non-profit corporation organized and existing to provide financial help for the public schools and educators of Bladen County, will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the public meeting room of the Bladen County Board of Education on U.S. 701 South in Elizabethtown. — The Bladenboro Art Gallery invites the public to a folk art exhibit by Paula Blizzard and Dani Kaye Blizzard. This conference will feature multiple tracks for both the healthcare professionals, non-professionals and caregivers who work with and care for older adults.
