RALEIGH – Governor Pat McCrory announced the State of North Carolina plans to sell two valuable, underutilized properties in Raleigh and Charlotte. The Personnel Training Center at 101 West Peace Street in downtown Raleigh and the vacant Charlotte Correctional facility, 4100 Meadow Oak Drive, in west Charlotte were listed on the market Monday.

“In an ongoing effort to use state property more efficiently and ensure taxpayer assets are put to the highest and best use, we have listed two underutilized state properties for sale,” said Governor McCrory. “Selling these properties is part of our strategy to reform how state government occupies space for greater efficiency, productivity and cost control.”

The Personnel Training Center occupies a lot of approximately 1.77 acres on Peace Street in the heart of downtown Raleigh. The state is listing the property for a long-term ground lease agreement.

The Charlotte property encompasses 49 acres in west Charlotte and was the home to the Charlotte Correctional Facility which closed in 2011. The state is listing the property for sale.
