COLUMBUS COUNTY (WECT) — Troopers with the State Highway Patrol were involved in a high-speed chase Monday afternoon on U.S. 74 near Whiteville.
According to officials, troopers began pursuing a grey Ford passenger vehicle around 12:03 p.m. near Chadbourn Road. It is unclear why the chase began.
Troopers pursued the vehicle on U.S. 74 until the chase was ended near N.C. 130 in Robeson County.
Crews had cleared the scene shortly after 1 p.m.
