ELIZABETHTOWN — On Thursday, students at Elizabethtown Primary School got the chance to take home some summer reading material, a result of the Give 5, Read 5 campaign by Bladen County Schools.

In an effort to reduce “summer loss” — the loss of previously learned material over the course of the extended summer break — Bladen County Schools encouraged parents and business partners to donate new or gently used books to primary schools. Students were then able to select five books that they would like to take home with them to read over the break.
