ELIZABETHTOWN — A total of 126 awards were handed out Saturday during the 18th annual Made in the Shade Open ca5r & Truck Show, held under the pecan trees in front of San Jose on West Broad Street in Elizabethtown.

“It was hot,” said Wayne Dove, president of the Classic Cruisers Car Club. “We were all soaking wet by the end of the day, but it was a good show. Everyone enjoyed it.

“I think the judging went the best it ever has in 18 years,” he added.

One of the day’s judges, Chris McDaniel, was impressed with the entries.

“We’ve got some of the best on-the-road vehicles I’ve ever seen,” he said. “Some just bring them here on a trailer and some drive them regularly — and the ones that are driven are some of the best I’ve ever seen.”
