DUBLIN — This week, Bladen Community College will begin offering its fall seminars for small business.

— Online Tools and Apps for Small Business will be offered Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Public Library. In this seminar, attendees will explore mostly “freemium” apps and online tools that enable small businesses and startups to avoid costs in establishing efficiencies for their business in areas like HR, invoicing, CRM, time management, finance management, communication, marketing, document management,. Bring a tablet, smartphone, or laptop — this hands-on seminar will get attendees on the computer and show how these tools can help.

— Intro to Quick Books Part 1 will be offered Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 6 – 8 p.m. at East Arcadia Center. In this seminar, participants learn to take the fear out of financial accounting by maximizing efficiency and financial control of accounting tasks with one of the most popular accounting applications for small businesses. Start with the basics of bookkeeping and launch into advanced financial management systems.

– Students who have a business idea are encouraged to attend the Entrepreneurs Academy: How to Start a Business seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Bladen Community College. This two-hour seminar is designed to provide basic information to individuals who are thinking about starting a business. This information includes business planning, financing, licensing, and evaluating one’s entrepreneurial aptitude. Attendees will be given packets of information that will allow them to begin the process of starting a business. The seminar will take place in Building 3, Room 112.
