— Bladen County Schools: Announced Monday afternoon that all schools will be closed for students and staff for the rest of the week because of the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Damage assessment and repairs continue. The local school system is requesting guidance from State Superintendent’s office about making up lost days.

Emereau Foundation: The Emereau Foundation Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 11, has been postponed until Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m. due to the on-going threat of severe flooding and weather related emergencies as outlined by the N.C. Department of Emergency Management according to the foundation’s officials.

— Bladen County Public Library: All branches of the Bladen County Public Library system were open on Tuesday and plan to operate at near-regular hours barring any unforeseen damage. However, due to continuing road issues, all branches will close at 6 p.m. according to Kelsey Edwards, director of Bladen County Library.

— Bladen Community College Seafood & Sunset: The annual fundraiser scheduled for Thursday has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
