ELIZABETHTOWN — Bladen County Chief Magistrate Paul “Gib” Butler was sworn in Friday afternoon for his new position on a statewide task force. Appointed by Gov. Pat McCrory, Butler will serve a four-year term on North Carolina’s Driving While Impaired Task Force. Only one of the 700 magistrates in North Carolina is chosen to serve on the team. Butler was sworn in by District Court Judge Scott Ussery.
