BLADENBORO — A shooting early Sunday morning on Twisted Hickey Road in Bladenboro sent one man to Bladen County Hospital and have deputies with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office looking for the trigger men.

According to Chief Deputy Rodney Hester, the shooting took place shortly after 4 a.m.

“Witnesses stated that a vehicle with several subjects inside … pulled into the back yard … and began shooting,” Hester said. “After several shots were fired, the vehicle left, going in an unknown direction.”

Hester added that witnesses were unable to provide a description of the vehicle or its occupants.

“A party was ongoing at the residence and there was evidence of a large gathering,” he said. “However, when law enforcement arrived, there were only a handful of subjects still at the residence.”

Hester said that one individual was struck by the shooting in the forearm and transported to the hospital. He added that a camper and vehicle in the back yard were also damaged by the gunfire.

Anyone with information about the incident can call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-8141 and give information anonymously.
