ELIZABETHTOWN — Deputies with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office were kept busy between July 2 and July 9 with 58 calls for assistance from the public.
Among those calls were nine for breaking and/or entering, nine for verbal and/or physical assault, seven for alarms, five for larceny, four for drugs and four for suspicious activity.
There were also 18 arrests during that time.
Following are the more important and/or interesting arrests:
— David Delane Christian, 33, charged with assault with a deadly weapon at 903 Storms Road in Bladenboro on July 4.
— Holly Louise Dietz, 33, charged with assault with a deadly weapon at 903 Storms Road in Bladenboro on July 4.
— Dan Junior English, 48, charged with two counts of felony larceny at 1 Harrelson Road/U.S. 701 South in Clarkton on July 4.
— Purcell Junior Avery, 37, charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle at 8340 Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville on July 5.
— Robert Mitchums Rhooms, 21, charged with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana at 9483 Chickenfoot Road/Shaw Mill Road in St. Pauls on July 5.
— James Calvin King, 27, charged with felony larceny at 10198 N.C. 53 East in Kelly on July 5.
— Morris Keith Bellamy, 21, charged with felony trafficking opium or heroine at 106 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on July 8.
— Curtis Levi Moore, 27, charged with communicating threats and felony possession of a weapon by a prisoner at 106 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on July 8.
