FAYETTEVILLE — Kuraray America Inc. recently donated $10,000 to the Second Harvest Foodbank in Fayetteville in response to recent damage caused by Hurricane Matthew.

Kuraray also provided the foodbank with a refrigerated trailer to assist with food deliveries around the community. The Second Harvest Foodbank serves seven counties in the Fayetteville region and delivered more than 1.4 million pounds of food in October.

“We hope that this donation is the beginning of a strong partnership with Kuraray and Second Harvest. Many of our employees know the devastation of flooding first hand, and hope that this donation can help people get back on their feet as quickly as possible,” said Ross Crews, plant manager at Kuraray America.

Kuraray employs more than 100 people in the Fayetteville region where they manufacture film used in laminated safety glass.
