WHITE LAKE — A joint investigation between the White lake Police Department and Bladen County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of an Indian Trail couple, who have been charged with a number of drug charges.

According to Lt. Mike Salmon, the arrests came on Thursday at about 2 p.m. when law enforcement officers discovered an active methamphetamine operation in a travel trailer on Bingham Street.

Salmon added that the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation was notified and responded with its Clandestine Laboratory Response Team to process the scene.

Arrested were Keith Douglas Transue, 50, and Karen Joan Pham, 42. Each have been charged with maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine and five counts of possession of precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Additional charges once test results are confirmed at the North Carolina State Crime Lab.

Transue received a bond of $300,000 while Pham received a bond of $150,000.

“This is a perfect example of two agencies working together to achieve a common goal,” Salmon said. “The White Lake Police Department asks the citizens of our community to please contact us when they see any suspicious activity.”

The Sheriff’s Office also has a text a tip line that they encourage the residents to use anonymously to report drug activity. That number is 910-862-8124.
