FAYETTEVILLE (WNCN) – Fayetteville police said suspect in a Nov. 16 sexual assault in the 1600 block of Shively Court has been arrested.

Diondre Kesean Jones, 22, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sexual offense, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim met the suspect in the parking lot of 24 Hour Discount Tobacco located at 816 Reilly Road. According to police, the victim willingly went with the suspect to a residence in the 1600 block of Shively Court.

Police said the suspect then brandished a handgun and sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect made the victim get back into her car and told her to drive.

While driving, the victim saw several people in the parking lot of Freddy’s at 1548 Bingham Drive. Police said she drove into the parking lot and jumped from the vehicle.

The victim ran inside the business and the suspect drove off in the victim’s vehicle, which was later found abandoned.

Jones surrendered to A-1 Bail Bonds Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident.

He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under $277,000 bond.
