WILMINGTON (WWAY) — A former Brunswick County deputy found herself on the other side of the jail bars after being charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer.

According to warrants, Jessica Elizabeth Falor, 24, of Leland showed two women a badge Friday, told them she was an officer and told one of the women, “Don’t lie to me. I’m a cop.”

The warrants say Falor then searched a Winnabow home where one woman lives and the other was visiting. Falor is also charged with breaking and entering and simple assault after allegedly shoving one of the women with her elbow.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Emily Flax says the sheriff hired Falor in January 2015 as a detention deputy. Flax says Falor worked for the sheriff for about 10 months before resigning in November when she was a drug court deputy.

Falor was booked into the Brunswick County Jail Monday night and released a short time later on $2,000 bond, Flax said.
