ELIZABETHTOWN — An Evergreen woman plead guilty to assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, fleeing to elude arrest and driving while impaired on Wednesday in Bladen County Superior Court.

Ivey Dew, 27, was sentenced to between 19 and 32 months in prison, according to the Bladen County District Attorney’s Office.

According to reports, Dew was driving through Whiteville on Aug. 2 when Columbus County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop her. Dew failed to stop and proceeded to lead law enforcement from the State Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies on a 100-mph, two-county chase.

Dew was stopped along N.C. 87 in Bladen County when troopers used the Precision Immobilization Technique — which used a law enforcement vehicle to turn Dew’s vehicle.

Dew reportedly was arrested and admitted to being under the influence of narcotics.

Columbus County has pending charges against Dew.
