ELIZABETHTOWN — Folks in Bladen County will have the chance to decide if they want to allow the sale of fortified and unfortified beverages during the spring primary in Bladen County, thanks to a vote Monday night by the Bladen County Board of Commissioners.
“Ron Taylor came and addressed the board and requested the board vote to schedule a referendum for fortified and nonfortified beverages,” said Bladen County Manager Greg Martin.
According to reports, Taylor told the board that, by allowing the sale of such beverages, it gives tourists the chance to enjoy such drinks, and will increase the sales tax and tax base for the county.
