Overcast skies and cool temperatures couldn’t dampen the spirits as folks flocked to Lu Mil Vineyard on Saturday for the N.C. Grape Festival. There were many unique and interesting items to behold at the community yard sale including hand carved tobacco barns and homes by Hervie Williams of White Oak. Kevin O’Sullivan was busy carving hiking and walking sticks for those folks who enjoy a long walks hiking such places as the Appalachian Trail. Of course there other activities such musical entertainment by Bladen County’s own Jimmy Gatlin and the Grape Stomp Competition. Lu Mil owner Ron Taylor deemed the day “a complete success.”
