RED SPRINGS — Two people involved in a Red Springs drug operation were arrested by narcotics agents this week, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
The agents arrested 33-year-old Don Anthony Locklear, who lives on the 800 block of Snipes Road, and 40-year-old Rachel Scott, of N.C. 72 in Pembroke, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.
Following complaints of illegal drug activity, agents searched a home on the 1000 block of Lewis McNeill Road on Wednesday afternoon, the statement said. They found the front door barricaded and had to force their way inside. A search of the home turned up prescription pills, marijuana, digital scales with cocaine residue and a loaded handgun, according to the statement.
Locklear is charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute a schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the statement.
Locklear, who is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center on a $250,000 secured bond, has been convicted several times since 2005 for selling cocaine, according to the statement.
Scott is charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and is being held on a $250 secured bond.
