Paperwork has been filed with the Bladen County Board of Elections to form a political action committee that will challenge a vote May 6 to allow the county-wide sale of beer and wine.

The PAC, known as Churches Against County-wide Sale of Beer and Wine, will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Sandy Grove Baptist Church between Elizabethtown and Bladenboro on Hwy. 242. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will feature the Rev. Mark Creech, executive director of the Christian Action League of North Carolina, as the main speaker.
