PEMBROKE — After nearly three months of investigation, Pembroke police this week arrested a 23-year-old man for selling cocaine.

Jimmy Scott Locklear, of 925 Pine St., Pembroke, was arrested Tuesday at about 9 a.m. after he had sold cocaine to undercover officers on several occasions, according to police Sgt. Matt Locklear. Inside the home, officers found drug paraphernalia and marijuana, Sgt. Locklear said.

According to Sgt. Locklear, Pembroke police began watching Jimmy Locklear’s home about three months ago when neighbors started to complain about drug use and unusually heavy traffic at the home. Sgt. Locklear did not know the amount of cocaine Jimmy Locklear had sold to officers.

“I will continue addressing the drug activity in our town. By addressing the drug activity we usually see a decrease in other crimes,” Police Chief Grant Florita said in a statement.

Jimmy Locklear is charged with maintaining a drug dwelling and selling a schedule 1 substance. He was placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $2,500 bond.
