ST. PAULS — A former elementary school bus driver charged with sexual offenses involving five students is scheduled to appear in court next month.
Lance Adam Hair, 22, was fired on Jan. 14 after being suspended for about a month, according to Tasha Oxendine, public information officer for the Public Schools of Robeson County. Hair was hired in February 2011, Oxendine said.
Hair, who lives on Blue Road in Parkton, is charged with two counts each of felonious restraint, disseminating obscene material to a minor and indecent liberties with a child.
Most of the incidents occurred between April 2012 and June 2013, but the most recent took place from Nov. 18 to Dec. 11, according to St. Pauls Police Chief R. Thomas Hagens.
According to Hagens, Hair took at least two children into a woods near the school and showed another two a photograph of exposed genitals.
Hair was released on bail and is set to appear in court on March 25.
The Robesonian was unable to get additional information from Hagens, who told a reporter she needed to look at the police report. The Robesonian sent a reporter to the Police Department on Tuesday to get the police report, but a secretary said she could not release the report without Hagens’ permission. Hagens was not at the department at the time.
A police report is public record.
