BLADENBORO — A teenage girl has been reported missing by her family, and could have run away with her boyfriend.
According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Maggie Rose Johnson, 17, of Hickory Grove Ball Park Road in Bladenboro has been missing since Wednesday, June 18. He family reported that she went missing shortly before noon that day.
“Johnson left riding a bicycle and did not return,” said Chief Deputy Rodney Hester. “Her bicycle was found just down the road, but she was not.
“A note was found in her bedroom, where she wrote that she was running away from home,” Hester added.
Johnson’s boyfriend, Michael Tyler Cofflin, 18, was also reported missing from the Lake Waccamaw Boys & Girls Home as of Tuesday, June 17.
“Michael does not have a vehicle, so it appears that a third person is helping them,” Hester said. “Johnson called a family member on Saturday night and told them that she was OK, but was not ready to return home right now.
Johnson is 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with brown-blonde-black dyed hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a West Bladen T-shirt, blue jeans and Sanuk shoes.
