A nightclub dispute in McColl, S.C. this weekend turned into an exchange of gunfire that damaged three homes and a vehicle between Laurinburg and Wagram, according to authorities.

Early on Sunday morning, seven Laurinburg men left the Encore nightclub in McColl, S.C. after an argument arose among them.

“They were at a club in South Carolina and the two groups got in an argument,” said Sheriff Shep Jones. “They left the club and they were actually shooting at each other coming up 401 into Laurinburg. At some point the two groups separated and one group went to Surry Drive.”

A group of four: 23-year-old Exzavier Isaac, 23-year-old Leericus Williams, 22-year-old Frederick Baldwin, and 21-year-old Shaquille Deberry, were followed to a home on 21381 Surry Drive. After they entered the residence, the home was fired into by the second nightclub group shortly after 5 a.m.

Following that shooting, Isaac, Williams, Baldwin, and Deberry pursued the shooters to a home on nearby Airbase Road and fired upon that residence in return. Another nearby home on Airbase Road, as well as a vehicle, were damaged in that shooting.

The victim living in the second Airbase Road home said that he was awoken by three or four gunshots and, while checking on his two children, noticed a dark colored SUV turning around near his home. According to a report, the witness then saw four men exit the vehicle and fire at 21720 Airbase Road.

Though damages were inflicted upon three homes and a vehicle in the course of the shootings, no one was injured by the gunfire.

“It’s very lucky that no one was injured,” Jones said.

Based upon the victim’s description of the SUV, sheriff’s officers located the vehicle as it travelled toward Laurinburg. Isaac, Williams, Baldwin, and Deberry were all arrested on Sunday and placed in the Scotland County Jail, each under a $150,000 secured bond.

In addition, authorities located two assault rifles and a handgun inside the SUV.

On Monday, authorities were in the process of obtaining warrants to arrest and charge the three other men involved in the shootings: Michael Robinson, Tyquan Ellerbe, and Sharrod Armstrong, all of Laurinburg.
