ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office fielded a total of 56 reports of crimes between Sept. 4 and Sept. 10, and made a total of 28 arrests during that time.
Among the victims of reported crime were eight for larceny, eight for residential or business alarms, six for breaking and/or entering and three for verbal or physical assault.
The following are the more interesting and/or important arrests.
— Oliver Arredondo, 22, charged with felony possession of a counterfeit instrument at 16500 N.C. 87 Hwy. West in tar Heel on Sept. 6.
— Bobby Joe Kellihan, 43, charged with assault on a child under the age of 12 at 121 Scrub Oak Road in Elizabethtown on Sept. 6.
— Clyde H. Hunt, 55, charged with communicating threats at 13148 Twisted Hickory Road in Bladenboro on Sept. 6.
— Bobby Lee Ratliff, 31, charged with resisting a public officer at 220 Edgewood St. in Clarkton on Sept. 8.
— William Lee Stevenson, 52, charged with communicating threats at 21 H&A Drive in White Oak on Sept. 8.
— Sarah Celeste Melvin, 36, charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance at 106 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on Sept. 9.
— Timothy Christopher Johnson, 35, charged with communicating threats at 549 N.C. Hwy. 410 in Bladenboro on Sept. 9.
*Note: Starting next week, because of the rising numbers of those being charged with civil contempt for child support payments, the Bladen Journal will begin listing those arrests.
