Warrant nets two drug arrests

ELIZABETHTOWN — A search warrant executed by Elizabethtown Police officers and Bladen County Sheriff’s deputies resulted in the arrest of two local individuals, one of which was wanted by the Danville, Va., Police Department on a felony.


The search warrant was obtained on Friday, Oct. 4, after narcotics officers had made drug purchases from a resident on Mercer Road.


“Officers found more than 60 grams of marijuana, digital scales and other paraphernalia,” said Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw. “The two suspects were in the apartment along with their infant children.


Arrested was Stancil Jackson IV, 28, who was a fugitive from Danville, Va., on a charge of felony failure to appear on a charge of possession of cocaine.


Jackson was charged locally with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, felony manufacture of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of marijuana. He remains in the Bladen County Jail under a $121,000 secured bond.


Also arrested was Kelly Janelle Smith, 24, who was charged with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, felony manufacture of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of marijuana.


Smith was released from the Bladen County Jail on Oct. 4 after posting an $8,500 secured bond.
