ELIZABETHTOWN — Police responded to a report of an armed robbery Friday, Jan. 3, at the Community Mart located at 909 E. Broad St. in Elizabethtown, but have not yet made an arrest.

According to Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw, the incident took place at about 6:15 p.m.

“The clerk reported that two male subjects entered the store wearing masks,” Kinlaw said. “One subject, who had a handgun and was wearing camouflage pants, jumped over the counter and demanded all the money.”

After getting the money from the cash register, both men fled on foot around to the back of the store. No injuries were reported.

Kinlaw said officers used K-9 and tracked the two men for a distance before they lost the scent. They have no further description of the two men.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information can call the Elizabethtown Police Department anonymously at 862-3125.
