The following businesses and government offices have announced they will be closed for the New Year’s holiday:


— All Bladen County government offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the holiday. They will resume their normal hours of operation Thursday, Jan. 2.


— Bladen County Schools were released Tuesday, Dec. 17, for the Christmas holiday and New Year’s holiday. The school system will resume normal operations on Monday, Jan. 6.


— There will be no mail delivery by the U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Their offices will reopen at regular time on Thursday, Jan. 2.


— For New Years, the Bladen County Transfer Station will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1. All collection centers operate under regular scheduling the week of New Years.


— All municipal offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, for the holiday. They will resume normal operations on Thursday, Jan. 2.


— All North Carolina Courts will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, for the holiday. They will resume their normal hours of operation on Thursday, Jan. 2.


— All North Carolina government offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. They will resume normal hours of operation on Thursday, Jan. 2.


— All federal offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the holiday. They will resume normal hours of operation on Thursday, Jan. 2.


— All banks will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the holiday. They will reopen for business on Thursday, Jan. 2.


— The Bladen Journal office will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. The office will reopen for business at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2.
