LAURINBURG — A Laurinburg man is being held under a $40,000 bond following a weekend break-in, a robbery and an assault, according to the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.
Timmie Locklear, 32, of 10420 Parliament Ave., was arrested on Leisure Road at about 2 p.m. Saturday and charged with two counts of felonious breaking and entering, felonious larceny after breaking and entering, felonious robbery with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
He was held under a $40,000 secured bond and confined at the Scotland County Detention Center, according to a sheriff’s arrest report.
Locklear reportedly broke into a Leisure Road home at 10 a.m. Saturday and stole items valued at a total of about $5,000 before assaulting Sidney Gardner, of McQueen Road, and taking $270 cash.
Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Jacobs said Gardner was spending the night with his girlfriend at her Academy Road home when Locklear cut his neck.
Gardner reported that he was asleep on a couch when he felt something rub against his neck, woke up and chased Locklear outside, but was unable to catch him. When Gardner went back inside the house he noticed a cut on his neck and later went to Scotland Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Earlier that day, Locklear broke into a home on Leisure Road where Locklear stole a safe, flat screen television, cash, a gaming system and a jacket, worth about $5,139, according to Antoinette Gibson, administrative assistant at the sheriff’s office. Locklear had also caused about $200 damage to a window at the home.
