Scott Parnell, a member of the Dublin Scout Troop, stands beside a 5-foot log cart wheel inside the Dublin Scout Hut. Dwarfed by the piece, scouts once played and worked under the wheel for many years when it hung as an overhead light. The Scout Hut committee will decide if the wheel should be restored as a chandelier or if it should be displayed to show the work it did as a light fixture after it actually hauled logs from the forests in the area and was pulled by teams of horses. Work at the Scout Hut continues each Thursday at 1 p.m. and volunteers are urged to attend the work sessions to help with replacing damaged logs or cleaning up inside and out. Donations can be made to the treasurer, Walter Bullard, by calling him at 876-2932 or 862-4286. For information about volunteering materials or labor, call Tony Parnell at 316-0510.
