DUBLIN — Falling colorful leaves, crisp air and the smell of wood smoke from area fireplaces that means its autumn isn’t far off — which means it will soon be time for the annual Dublin Peanut Festival.
Organizers have already begun securing sponsorships, vendors and volunteers to make the 2014 festival bigger and better than ever before.
According to Bobbi Todd, the organizers are looking for the following:
— Applications for the Dublin Peanut Festival $1,000 Scholarship pageant to be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at Dublin Elementary School Multipurpose Building/Gymnasium. The pageant begins at 7 p.m. Application deadline is Aug. 21.

— Applications for Craft & Food Vendors. Food vendor application deadline is Sept. 5, with no exceptions.

— The Classic Cruisers Car Club is accepting registrations for the festival’s car show to be held on the day of the event. All antiques, classic cars and trucks are welcome.
