ELIZABETHTOWN — Shoppers, get ready for some terrific deals. Merchants and their staffs are getting geared up for the annual Fourth of July Sidewalk Sale. The sale will take place Thursday through Monday in downtown Elizabethtown.
Merchants will be offering all manner of goodies from shirts to shoes to shorts to dress pants and dresses — and everything in between.
“I think it’s going to be the biggest one yet,” said Ricky Leinwand, owner of Leinwand’s of Elizabethtown.
He added that, with new merchandise coming in daily, he and his staff are working to get items ready for what he hopes will be the best sidewalk sale in the history of his store.
Leinwand said the sale is town wide and folks can come and shop and eat at any one of the many restaurants and just enjoy the day.
“Some people start their Christmas shopping during this sale,” said Leinwand.
Leinwand said there are customers who make the annual Fourth of July sidewalk sale a family tradition or a part of their annual vacation to White Lake. He added that, “really, when you look at where many of the customers hail from,” it’s a regional sidewalk sale.
“It’s not only for the tourists and locals. It has become a really big deal … part of our customers come from Clinton, Lumberton and Whiteville,” said Leinwand.
He added that he has hired extra staff for the sidewalk sale. Leinwand said that shoppers can expect great selection and good prices during the sale.
Leinwand said he encourages all of the local merchants to take part in the event as well.
