The results are in, the votes have been tabulated and the winners for the Bladen Journal’s Cutest Kids contest winners have been revealed.
The Bladen Journal received 31 entries for the Cutest Kids Contest and the overall prize winner garnered 883 votes, winning the title by more than 300 votes.
That overall winner of the Cutest Kids Contest was Brittany Sellers of Bladenboro with a photo of her son J.J. Her entry was titled, “Happy, happy, happy.” She will receive a $100 prize, thanks to the title sponsorship by Badcock Home Furniture and More of Elizabethtown.
Other winners included:
— In the newborn category was Alisha Lewis with her entry for her son Braxton, who is 11 months old.
“I enjoyed it,” said Lewis of the contest.
“He is a true blessing,” said Lewis of her son. She added that he is her “miracle baby.”
She added she would definitely recommend the contest to anyone.
“It’s all in fun. It’s a bonus when you win,” said Lewis.
— Holly Brisson’s entry for her daughter Aiden, won in the Toddler category.
— Andrea Carter-Fisher’s entry won in the category for age 2 to 3 years old.
“She liked the idea of being on the computer. She thought is was cool she could get up there and see herself,” said Carter-Fisher of her daughter, Alexis.
— Heather Register’s entry won for the 4 to 5-year-old category.
She said, “Cam is a joy to everyone he meets. From his big blue eyes to his contagious smile he lights up a room. His dad and I are lucky to have him. We love him to the moon and back!!”
— Melanie Wheeless, who is a co-worker with Register, also won in her category for ages 6 to 8 years old.
Wheeless said, “Taylor is a true ray of sunshine. She blesses so many around her with her outgoing and energetic personality. We are so proud of her!”
— Sharon Smith’s entry won in the age category 9 to 12. She said of her entry for son Tyler, “I enter just about every contest and I have thought I would have won. I got everybody I knew to vote.”
