ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Educational Foundation recently made a financial donation to each school principal to purchase classroom items for teachers.

Each year the Foundation conducts a Jail-a-thon at the Board of Education, arresting community leaders, elected officials and school personnel to raise money for Bladen County School’s teachers. Local law enforcement officials from the Elizabethtown Police Department and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Department help in arresting the “criminals.”

This year’s event generated a little more than $3,800 in proceeds.

David Wall, treasurer of the Foundation, presented a check to each principal and thanked them for their service to education.
